For Dr. Catherine Laborde Kohler, becoming a veterinarian was more than a career—it was a lifelong calling. Born and raised in Lake Charles, she grew up surrounded by animals and was inspired by her family’s love for pets. Early mentorship with Dr. Gill of Gill Bright Animal Hospital further shaped her path, leading her to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University. Today, Dr. Kohler proudly serves as Veterinarian and Medical Director at Southside Animal Hospital, where compassionate care is the foundation of everything she does. Southside Animal Hospital offers wellness exams, dental care, surgeries, diagnostics, grooming, boarding, and advanced imaging, all with a focus on building lasting relationships with families. Beyond the clinic, the team partners with shelters and provides donations to animals in need. At Southside Animal Hospital, every patient is family, and every wagging tail is a success.
