Sanctuary Louisiana
SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND DRUG TREATMENT CENTER
Owner, Chester “Lee” Mallett
Sanctuary Louisiana
Chester “Lee” Mallett became a well-established business man in the southwest region and solidified himself as an avid social reformer through the creation of Sanctuary Louisiana LLC. Sanctuary Louisiana began as ATS, a judicial referral center offering courts an alternative to incarceration for young, nonviolent offenders. Over time, the program evolved to address the deeper issue—addiction. ATS became Sanctuary Louisiana, a licensed drug and alcohol treatment center, while Genesis Life continued the referral work and Genesis Living expanded into sober housing.
CARF accredited since 2019, Sanctuary Louisiana has transformed into a new model for justice and recovery. Their programs form the only facility in Louisiana—and one of the only in the nation—that integrates treatment, judicial referral, and sober living. Residents work and pay their own way, learning to live responsibly as they would in free society. With over 200 beds across all levels of care, Sanctuary Louisiana is proving that compassion plus accountability changes lives.
